so i'm a little behind...

because i am behind in about six million things in my life, including signing up for the Internet at my house, i've gotten a bit behind in my blogging, and i'm sorry! i know i have so many faithful readers who just can't wait to find out what's going on in my exciting, adventurous life....haha. maybe i'll just extend my apologies to my dad and a few of my close friends that find this is the best way to follow my life since i've also gotten behind in calling them. apologies all around....

anyway, life is truckin' along here. i'm enjoying the bank and getting to know many of the regular customers. i've been spending lots of time working on my house, which i feel has finally gotten to a comfortable, livable place. i've spent most of my efforts focusing on the living room and the bathroom, and my next leap will be the dining room. it's not even painted (nope, not yet...one of my goals for these next two weeks) and i don't have a stitch of dining room furniture, but i'm just hopeful that the sooner i get it cleaned well and painted that it might inspire Brad to get to workin' on my table!

we've had some fun weekends with friends and family - went camping and to Madeline Island, a small tourist island a couple hours away, have done some cookouts, played lots of pool, went shopping in Duluth, MN, shot clay pigeons...life has been full and fun. this past weekend Brad biked in the Chequamegon Fat Tire Rice, a 40 mile mountain biking competition. he hadn't biked since his Europe Tour and according to him, was 'out of shape' -- i say WHATEVER. but he did a great job and i didn't mind one bit standing in the freezing, pouring rain to watch him cross the finish line.

let's see...not too much else going on. i still love it here, probably more and more everyday. fall is quickly approaching, the leaves are changing, the temperature has been (really) cool lately, and i've enjoyed a fair share of pumpkin lattes at the local coffee shop. i can't get enough of driving down country roads and looking out over fields of hay bales and cow pastures, and i've even come to hold a special place in my heart for Wal-Mart. a very small one.

okay, enough blabbing. here's the pictures!

the living room

the hallway
the kitchen

also the kitchen...
the bathroom - how 'bout that ugly brown counter? no hope for that...

yeah, i'm pro-gun. shooting clay pigeons in an ugly sweatshirt -- had to wear so i wouldn't hurt my face from the kickback from the gun!

brad and his younger brother - they're your typical, small-town American family
twig, the youngest brother
this place is absolutely drowning in testosterone - again, any single women out there...
the start of the Fat Tire - the number of bikers is incredible

they come down the road in an absolute mass of bikes and people
me and brad after the race - both soaking wet but smiling!

i love the country.

so, there you have it. my life (some of it) over the past month. it's a busy one, but i knew all those downtimes and lonely days in Sweden would one day come to an end, and i would wish for the days of having nothing to do...can't say i've reached that point yet, but it's nice to have things going on - have a life that isn't just about you and only you.

i think the only thing that would completely, totally satisfy me here...a Chipotle. keep dreaming, right?

You're so cute. Your "ugly" sweatshirt is probably equivalent to my "cute" sweatshirt. Sad...

Your living room is cozy and sweet!!
